The wildlife reserve Caño Negro is one of the most important reserves for incredible bird watching and observation of wildlife in Costa Rica. Caño Negro is also home for many sloths, monkeys, caimans, bats as well as numerous tropical plants.
After a welcome drink and a snack, we slowly and silently cruise to this exceptional national refuge in our comfortable boat where you can enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna.
Upon return you will be served a typical, delicious lunch in the restaurant “El Caiman” which is nicely placed on the riverbank of “Rio Frio”.

Set deep in the Costa Rican rain forests, Sarapiquí River, declared as National Patrimony, gives us the perfect blend of natural beauty and one of the best white water rafting in the country, with big waves and amazing technical rapids. After meeting with your river guide we will drive 90 minutes to the put in in where the fun begins! Your guides will explain the safety security procedures and safety equipment before embarking down the river. Then we will take the PLUNGE and start the adventure! Halfway through our journey we will “re-fuel” on the river bank and enjoy some delicious tropical fruits while soaking in the tropical surroundings. At the end of our journey, a cold drink and dry towel will await you before a short ride where you can change into dry clothes and have a delicious Typical Costa Rican Lunch.

Experience the excitement and adrenaline of the white water tour on this half day adventure!! Located at 50 minutes from La Fortuna, Balsa River provides an excellent setting to enjoy rafting for whole family. Get wet and wild through rapids such as ¡“Magnetic Rock” and “Dredges”! A 15-minute break in the river allow us to taste delicious tropical fruit while enjoying a tropical setting, surrounded by monkeys, toucans and other exotic species. You will start the tour visiting the hanging bridges option consists of a hike on a 1.9 mile (3.1 km) trail on which you can enjoy the rainforests flora and fauna. The trail crosses nine fixed bridges and six suspension bridges and is laid out at a maximum grade of seven degrees so that anyone can walk it. Our next stop is the La Fortuna Waterfall.
From the trailhead you will hike approximately 15 minutes before reaching this majestic waterfall where you can swim or just enjoy its beauty. Lunch is next and Lava Rocks Restaurant is the place. Following lunch you’ll have the opportunity to rest until 3 pm before embarking on the volcano hike.
We will choose one of several trails depending on which side of the volcano the lava is coming down and on all the trails you will see a wide variety of plants and wildlife. On the Tucanes trail you will have the opportunity to walk on a lava flow and on all the trails at the end of the hike you will watch the sunset, waiting until dark in hopes of seeing and hearing the glowing chunks of lava tumbling down the side of the mountain, a sight you won’t soon forget.

We left the hotel La Pradera to the farm in front of the hotel on trails over pastures reaching the volcano where a brief stop is made to appreciate the spectacular view of La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano, after enjoying the excellent route off road , we went to the Arenal river passing through the village of La Guaira to cross this river and there you can enjoy drinks and a refreshing swim, so restore and move to the restaurant located in our facilities where we expect a delicious lunch or dinner.

In order to drive an ATV, you must have at least 16 years old. Under 16 years old may drive together with an adult.

We depart from La Fortuna in the morning for this fascinating adventure combining the magic of a turquoise river, in the nature, with the opportunity to observe the wonderful flora and fauna. The tour lasts approximately 8 hours all together and on clear days you can get a view of Tenorio and Miravalles Volcanoes.

The Rio Celeste is one of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica. On the way we will stop to rest in a picturesque village and then continue towards the “Rio Celeste” in the Tenorio Volcano National Park. Arriving at the park we will launch a hike into the forest with the option of visiting the famous Rio Celeste waterfall, impressive not for its size but for its unique colors, a great place to take pictures. Later you can continue to the point where mother nature magically mixes the water of two streams of crystalline water, changing color of the water into a beautiful, bright blue light (hence the name “Rio Celeste”).The hike through the mountains runs rough roads in the jungle discovering the best of its flora and fauna throughout the route. After the hike we go back to the park entrance where we will enjoy a delicious and well-deserved lunch.

Experience Arenal´s only wild frog sanctuary at night, when colorful tree frogs and other rainforest wildlife are most active and most easily observed. At least 28 frog species have made their home the ponds of Arenal Oasis. The Rojas Bonilla family carefully maintains native plants of Arenal, to create needed frog habitat in this private wildlife reserve of fresh spring water fed ponds; within a rainforest refuge connecting the rainforests of the Arenal Volcano and el Rio Burio. The night tour continues past the frog ponds along flat trails immersed in the noisy night rainforest. The guide will point out animals hiding from you.Support, enjoy and learn about the only wild frog sanctuary in the Arenal Volcano Area. Tours led by trained naturalist along flat rainforest trails start at 5:00pm at your hotel. Flashlights are provided and reservations are necessary.
